The Lousberg is a 264 meters tall oblong hill in Aachen. The eastern viewpoint offers a nice view over the Soers to the north and the city center to the south. The obelisk is a marker which was used as a fix point for cartography in the past. The distances and directions to other cities are listed in three rings on a compass rose. Once a year a popular 5555 meters long run, the Lousberglauf, leads more than a thousand runners up and down the Lousberg.
